WE WIN Institute is proud to present its first annual Griot Festival.
Saturday August 22 2015, 12-4pm at Bethune Park (1301 10th Ave. N.) in historic North Minneapolis. Traditionally the Griot is a learned storyteller, musician, historian and unifier. In fun and artistic ways the Griot Festival tells the story of Africans in the diaspora. This story is told through dance, drum, rap, storytelling and painting by professional artists from the Minneapolis community. The goal is to teach the community, via these art mediums, about the greatness of African culture and how it relates to African Americans today.
So please join WE WIN Institute Saturday August 22nd at Bethune Park 1301 North 10th Ave. Admission is free to the public and event will happen rain or shine. For further information please contact Linda Benford (612) 721-2364.
