Join Host, Roy Taylor (Pawnee), for INDIGENEITY RISING. It will be a packed episode of Indigenous art, music and politics. It's also "FALL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE WEEK", I'll have very special guests in the studio and on the phone, as well as my special membership pledge rapper!

I'm welcoming into the studio, "Guest Host", MELISSA OLSON (White Earth Ojibwe). Melissa had principal involvement in an award-winning radio documentary that was heard on KFAI's "Minneculture" titled, "STOLEN CHILDHOODS". I'll be talking with her about that story related to Native Children Adoption pre-Indian Child Welfare Act.

On the phone I'll speak with DEBORAH RAMOS of, ARTES TLALNEPANTLA, who along with INTERMEDIA ARTS is opening, "FESTIVAL DE LAS CALAVERAS, Dia De Los Muertos/Day Of The Dead. This is a multimedia, multidisciplinary arts exhibition that explores contemporary expressions and traditional elements centered on the celebration of Day of the Dead, an Indigenous Mexican tradition.

Also later in the program, I'll speak from Iowa with RUBY MONTOYA, who was involved in supportive Allies civil disobedience action related to opposition of the DAKOTA ACCESS PIPELINE. She will be in the Twin Cities this Friday for a "STOP LINE 3" event, "DISMANTLING DAPL". Ruby privately launched a campaign aimed at the direct dismantling of DAPL infrastructure.

Be sure to listen in throughout, as it's MEMBERSHIP DRIVE WEEK, we'll be announcing some special INDIGENEITY RISING related premiums and KFAI Fresh Air Radio premiums.
