Ray Covington joins the airwaves live in studio, The Lennie Chism Show, TLCS

Ray Covington has arrived and is gaining support and respect throughout the music industry. Showcasing his talents as a singer and songwriter, his debut solo CD was titled simply, “Ray Covington.” It was released in the summer of 2001 and created a buzz that would quickly spread throughout the Twin Cities music scene. It contained the local radio hit “I’m Ready.” 

His sofamore ablum entitled “Life Stories” was released fall of 2004. With personal, heart felt lyrics and classic R&B grooves, “Life Stories” is a favorite among his fans to this day. 

Ray Covington’s most recent release “Rayflections” release in February 2007, was Ray’s first National / International release with distribution through Sony/BMG. 

The Twin Cities is anxiously awaited this release and Ray received great deal of support from his loyal fans on myspace.com and facebook.com (www.myspace.com/raycovington and www.facebook.com/ray.covington1

Ray has opened shows for multi-platinum artists Jaheim, K-Ci & JoJo, The S.O.S. Band, Alexander Oneal, Kieth Washington and Tony Terry and has also performed with hit artists Will Stokley, Julius Collins, Barbara LeSure, Lakeside, The Sounds of Blackness and Kurt Jones to name a few. 

Ray Covington was nominated for “Best R&B vocalist and for Artist of the year” at the very prestigious Minnesota Music Awards two years in a row. Ray was also a judge for the hit program “American Idol” summer 2006 to find Minnesota’s best talent in the “Minnesota Idol” competition presented by Fox / UPN. 

Ray Covington built a strong following in the twin cities area in 2010 with shows at the Fine Line Café, Epic Nightclub, Arnellia’s Nightclub, OM Restaurant, Bunkers and is a crowd favorite at The Cabooze in Minneapolis as he is regularly invited to participate in Tribute shows for the late, great Luther Vandross and Marvin Gaye. 

Ray Covington has his sights set on becoming the next big star to hit the R&B music scene and his style and ability, he will be entertaining fans now and for years to come
