Show applications solicited for March 8 International Womens Day programming

KFAI is encouraging all women, non-binary and femme members of the community to apply to produce a show for this year's 24 hours of IWD programming taking place on March 8.

Programs this year will be featured throughout the month of March to celebrate Women's History Month and International Women's Day on Thursday, March 8th. The theme for International Women’s Day 2019 is “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change.”

The theme will focus on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.

International Women's Day is not country, group or organisation-specific. The day belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. So together, let's all be tenacious in accelerating gender parity. Collectively, let's all Press for Progress.

If you need help with your proposal, please contact Acting Program Director Mason Butler at

The default show length is one hour; however, KFAI retains the discretion to approve a show for a shorter or longer run-time.

The deadline for applications is Feb. 8, 2019.
