  • KFAI is encouraging all women, non-binary and femme members of the community to apply to produce a show for this year’s 24 hours of IWD programming taking place on March 8.

    Programs this year will be featured throughout the month of March to celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8th. The theme for International Women’s Day 2019 is “Think equal, build smart, innovate for change.”

    The theme will focus on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.

It turns out, however, that some Minnesota wolves might be more like Minnesota humans than we once realized: University of Minnesota researchers have documented and published a study that shows wolves from one pack in Voyageur's National Park take advantage of certain weather patterns in the spring to go … fishing.

  • Homelessness in Minneapolis has been in the news, of course, as hundreds of people have been living in tents for months along Hiawatha Avenue, and the City of Minneapolis, tribal leaders and other organizations are now helping some folks move into transitional “navigation centers”, which are long, heated tents that can shelter about 40 people each.
