  • "The Slowdown" is a new podcast from U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith, produced by American Public Media in collaboration with The Poetry Foundation. The premise of the show is to take a moment from our busy lives each day and turn to poetry, with a poem selected, described and read by the Poet Laureate. 

  • The Twin Cities-based ensemble Wailing Loons recently played three songs on Poetry, Science and Wrestling, in advance of an evening performance December 6, 2018, at Finnegans in Minneapolis.

  • John J. Moriarty has written a Field Guide to the Natural World of the Twin Cities, published this year by University of Minnesota Press, and he recently joined Paul Brohaugh of KFAI's Poetry, Science and Wrestling to talk about the book. Listen here!

    Mr. Moriarty was scheduled to speak about the Field Guide 7 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Bell Museum in St. Paul.

  • The KFAI Board of Directors invites you to the Annual Membership Meeting on Monday, Dec. 3 at 6:00 pm at the Hook & Ladder Theater.

    All Donor Members (financial contributors) and Volunteer Members are welcome to attend. Board members and staff will make brief presentations on the state of the station (including finances), and what we’ve accomplished in 2018 and what the coming year holds for KFAI. There will be time for questions as well. We hope to see as many members as possible there. Here’s the meeting agenda:

  • Sometime in August 2018, Paul Brohaugh joined himself on KFAI's Poetry, Science and Wrestling to play an adapted version of Woody Guthrie's "Do Re Mi." 

  • The election of candidates for appointment to the KFAI/Fresh Air Board of Directors ends at 6 pm today, Friday, Nov. 30. All Donor and Volunteer Members are encouraged to vote on the online ballot, found HERE.

    Eligible voters can vote for up to five (5) candidates, or as few as you wish. Essays by the candidates appear on the ballot so voters can see what each of the candidates hope to accomplish on the 2019-20 Board term.
